February

Service hours: 0; Cumulative hours: 8

February has been incredibly busy and rewarding. Once again, faced with the challenge of juggling coursework, preparing for numerous presentations, and finalizing a major abstract submission, it felt like there was hardly a moment to catch my breath. The shorter length of the month didn't help either. Every day was packed with tasks that kept me moving nonstop.

Despite the busy schedule, it was a productive and fulfilling month. I really enjoy public speaking and had a fun time putting together presentations on research in neuropharmacology, endocrine pharmacology, and advances in pharmacology. For endocrine pharm, I chose to present on metabolic stress & muscle hypertrophy. This was a super fun project for me to work on as I got to incorporate my two biggest hobbies/interests: bodybuilding and science.

My abstract submission marked a huge milestone in my academic journey. I've dedicated a lot of time and effort into lab and it's super exciting to see my work come together into something tangible. I unfortunately was unable to volunteer this month, however with our break for Mardi Gras I will be taking advantage of our free time to get involved in the community.

Now, as February comes to a close, my focus shift to the next big goal: finishing my research poster for TRICS in April. It's exciting to think about presenting my research at the conference, sharing ideas, and getting valuable feedback. For now, I'm taking a moment to reflect on the progress I've made and the effort that went into making February such a productive month. Here's to keeping the momentum going into March and beyond!
